Laser is actually the abbreviation for “light amplification by stimulated emission of radiation”! The term was coined in 1960 and lasers work by concentrating high energies into an intense narrow beam of non divergent monochromatic electromagnetic radiation. It has many types and uses and in the medical field it is commonly used in plastic and aesthetic surgery. In plastic and aesthetic surgery of the face, the facial lasers can be either ablative (cutting) or non ablative (non cutting). |
